It would be great to finally get funded as a postdoctoral researcher in Ecology and Evolution. I have published in high-profile journals and been competitive in the North American job market (I have received 4 R1 university tenure track job offers), yet I had trouble being funded by NSERC. I applied continuously in the past two years, when my proposals were highly praised by experts in our field, yet I ended up not being funded. I love science and am determined to stay in academia, but I will be out of funding in the coming January. At the same time, my postdoc colleagues in the states with similar profiles all got NSF funding with rich stipends, I am in a much more precarious situation.
