On May 1st, 2023 nearly 10,000 graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, faculty, and supporters from 46 institutions across Canada walked out. They are demanding increased federal investments in scholarships, fellowships, and grants to support increased pay for graduate students and postdocs.
Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from across Canada organized walkouts at their academic institutions.
They walked to central locations or their Member of Parliament's office.
Thousands of researchers said enough is enough - it's time to pay students and postdocs a living wage!
