Who Are We?
Support Our Science is a grassroots organization actively advocating for increased pay to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in Canada. In the last year, SOS organizers have accomplished a lot. This includes meeting with decision-makers, gathering media attention, and organizing a national walkout in response to Budget 2023. We know that our efforts have brought much-needed attention to the issue of stagnant federal funding for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.

Why Contribute?
Support Our Science has achieved so much without any funding. But our organization has reached a point where we now need some funding to continue to operate and strengthen our advocacy. We are a small (but mighty) organization and we need YOUR help to push our mission forward!

We want you to know where your money is going:

Website domain: a yearly expense to keep this website running with the same URL

Business email: this is linked to the website and allows us to send emails and official newsletters via software like Moosend

Premium Slack: we use Slack for organizing, and a subscription means we don't lose any messages or information

Newsletters: Moosend is an affordable alternative to Mail Chimp. We'll purchase a "credit bundle" so we can send emails (e.g., one newsletter to 10k subscribers = 340k emails left)

Travel reimbursement: this allows our Executive Director to travel to meeting with decision makers
